On 23rd April, Doctor Deng Xin gave us an excellent speech titled “Estimating External Costs Related to Motor Vehicles in China” in the ACC No.5 Meeting Room. Doctor Deng is a senior lecturer in the School of Commerce, University of South Australia. She got her bachelor's degree and master's degree in Wuhan University, and then got her doctor’s degree in Australia.
The speech was related to the environment -- a very important problem all over the world. There were four parts in the speech: the motivation of this research; the current situation of motor vehicles in China; how to estimate the external cost; further discussion about the problem.
At the end of the speech, the students had a very heated discussion with Doctor Deng and then Prof. Qin gave a conclusion to the speech.
