MHBSC Case Competition Report
McDonough-Hilltop Business Strategy Challenge(MHBSC) is a globally influential business strategy competition for non-profit organizations. It challenges participants’ ability to apply their business knowledge to find a sustainable way for non-profit organizations to develop. The organizer, Georgetown University invited 20 teams form international universities to take part in the challenge. We were given a speech about suggestions for preparations and presentations to do the case. Also the Latin America Youth Center(LAYC), the non-profit organization in D.C. sent their project manager to answer questions for all teams.
We went to Washington D.C. For MHBSC competition on Feb.10th-13th, during these four days, we went to see around the campus and had three days for the challenge. on Feb 13th, each team gave a really amazing presentation and really did a great job. Before the closing dinner, team members and judges have about 3 hours to talk about the case and get to know each other better.
Thanks for Georgetown University offering a platform and gathering a plenty of talented teams from all over the world. STU students learnt much about presentation skill as well as the methods of business analysis. It’s a really different experience to get into the international case competition especially doing case in a different society and culture. It helps us to change our traditional way of thinking. Our team believes that it will be an unforgettable challenge in our further study and career. Last but not least, we were grateful that Shantou University Business School offered us with a chance to compete with those excellent participants from other universities in the world.
