On May 8, 2025, a delegation from Yeshiva University (YU) in the United States visited the East Coast Campus of the School of Business Shantou University to engage in discussions regarding a joint bachelor-master degree program. The visiting delegation from Yeshiva University included Mordechai Cohen, Director of the Sino-Judaic Dialogue Project and Professor of Jewish Philosophy, along with project communication specialists Jingyuan Wang and Weizhi Ye. Professor Liang Qiang, Dean of the School attended the symposium.
During the symposium, both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the collaborative project.The Yeshiva University Business School is set to launch two new graduate programs in 2026—the STEM MBA and MS Finance—and has proposed a "3+1" joint cultivation model.
Under this model, students will complete their undergraduate studies at Shantou University in the first three years and then pursue graduate studies at Yeshiva University in their final year.Upon successful graduation, students will receive both a bachelor's degree and a diploma from Shantou University, as well as a master's degree certificate from Yeshiva University.Participants in this joint program will have the opportunity to secure internships in the United States after graduation and may apply for a three-year U.S. work visa.This program not only enriches students' overseas internship and work experiences but also aids them in accumulating international market experience and enhancing their competitiveness, laying a solid foundation for their future career development.
Dean Liang Qiang extended a warm welcome to the Yeshiva University delegation and expressed great anticipation for the collaboration's future.He stated that our School has been committed to promoting internationalized education, and this partnership with Yeshiva University will provide students with a broader international exchange platform and high-quality educational resources.Given the significant changes in societal demands for business leaders, with a surge in demand for interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary professionals, the introduction of innovative programs like the STEM MBA will further enrich the college's talent cultivation system.It will help cultivate compound talents with an international perspective, innovative thinking, and cross-disciplinary capabilities, better meeting the new requirements for business talents in the digital era.
This symposium laid a solid foundation for collaboration between the two institutions, marking a significant step forward in international educational cooperation between the School of Business Shantou University and Yeshiva University.
