On the morning of April 29, 2009, before the coming of International Labor Day, Shantou held a celebrating meeting to celebrate the International Labor Day and the close of the 5th workers’ sports game. City leaders CAI Zongze, LI Xuetong, SUN Guanghui, LUO Yangpeng, CHEN Rong, LIU Yuanzhen, WANG Guiyuan, Deputy secretary of the City Commission for Discipline Inspection XU Jingfeng, army chairman ZHOU Genwen, GAO Heping, HU Pengfei, Shantou Customs head YAN Haoye also attended the meeting. Academy Professor Xu Zongling was honored as Shantou model workers and participated in the meeting.
At 9:00, the meeting started with the National Anthem. The meeting was held by LIU Yuanzhen who was Deputy Director of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee and the President of City Federation of Trade Unions. Municipal Standing Committee and the Minister of Propaganda Department CHEN Rong declared the person who won the prizes.
Leaders who attended the meeting presented medals, medals and certificates to the advanced individual and collectives.
