Professor Xu Zongling, Dean of the Business School, recently accepted the interview by China Radio International (CRI) and shared her opinions on Shantou’s development.
The CRI held a series of special programs during the 2011 Spring Festival and Professor Xu was interviewed in the episode titled “Shantou’s Historical Port: City of Happiness”. Being the only international broadcasting agency in China, the CRI is dedicated to enhance mutual understanding and deepen friendship between China and the rest of the world. During the nearly one hour interview, Professor Xu looked back into the glorious past of Shantou- when it was first developed as a commercial port in the mid 1800s. She then went on to talk about the establishment and development of the city as one of the Special Economic Zones. The CRI’s programs are broadcasting over some major destinations of Chinese migrants including NYC, Vancouver, London, Melbourne, Phnom Penh etc. The program has received warm responses, and attracted tremendous favorable comments.
