The Association of International Accountants (AIA) Academic and Cultural Exchange Tour Programme (Summer Tour) 2012, conducted by AIA Hong Kong, was held in Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKCC) from 13th to 23rd August. Carmen Rong, junior student from Business School, was selected to participate in this programme. Other students involved are from Guangdong University of Business Studies, Shanghai Lixin University of Commerce, Shanghai University, Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics and Jiangxi University of Finance & Economics. This project is to improve students’ competencies and skills of business study, promote international exchange, and help students learn more about The Association Of International Accountants (AIA) and experience the study environment in Hong Kong.
Four parts included in the whole programme are accounting courses, a case competition, college and company visit in Hong Kong. Carmen studied courses of English Communication Skills, Financial Accounting and Financial Management with students from the other five top domestic universities. Besides, she actively took part in the case competition and won the Runner-up in the AIA case study contest. During these ten days, she also visited the Hong Kong University, Hong Kong polytechnic University, Hong Kong Baptist University and Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Hong Kong Monetary Authority and BDO Hong Kong. All of these turn out to prove that programmes like this provide students great opportunities to integrate themselves into the world, and get closer to their dreams.
