The Asian Studies Association of Australia –ASAA held every other year is the biggest meeting of Asian specialists in South Hemisphere. The 17th anniversary was held in Melbourne, Australia on July 1st to 3rd, 2008. The issue of this anniversary is: “Is this Asian century?” The meeting concluded a lot of subjects such as Legal, Medicare, Nature Science, Politics, Regional Security, Economics, Culture, Environment, Media and Performance, covered Middle Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia and the relations with other places around the world. More than 400 experts from China, USA, Japan, India, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia were present. Furthermore, Chinese development was the primary issue of the meeting.
Dr. Qin Zhong, Business School of Shantou University presented his paper of The Essentiality of Government Relationship & Family Relationship in Chinese Privately-Owned Enterprises in the conference. During the conference, Dr. Qin Zhong not only discussed academic questions but also communicated about the mutual cooperation between Shantou University Business School and Monash Univerty, Australia and got certain progress.
