The 2010 Annual Meeting and Academic Seminar of China Enterprise Management Research Institute (CEMRI in the following), co-organized by the Jiang Yiwei Academic Foundation for Enterprise Restructuring and Development, Shantou University, CASS and STU Business School, was held between 3rd to 5th December in Shantou University. Recognized as one of the top academic conferences in China, experts and members from a number of institutes and organizations, including Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Nanjing University and National Department of Education, etc., were invited to this year’s seminar.
Member of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress, chairman of CASS board of directors and supervisor of Economic Division, CEMRI chairman Mr Chen Jiagui spoke in the opening ceremony. STU Vice President Wang Weilian, Shantou City CPPCC Vice Chairman Xie Keng also delivered welcome speeches.
Parallel conferences focused on a number of topics, including the assessment of restructuring Chinese domestic monopolies, the design of curriculums for management in the modern era, innovation ability and profitability, etc. Experts in the respective fields exchanged ideas and comments in the conferences.
In the closing ceremony, Dean of Business School professor Xu Zongling delivered the concluding speech to address the significance of this year’s seminar. She indicated that further practical and theoretical significances were added since the seminar was held prior to the promulgation of the 12th 5 Years Plan policies, and meanwhile in the midst of the critical phase of restructuring the Chinese economy.
Over 70 essays were submitted to this year’s seminar. An awarding ceremony was held at the end of the seminar.
