No. 5, Enterprise Management Lecture Series:Thoughts on Obstacles to the Growth of Private Enterprises

On the afternoon of March 29, Post-graduate course "Business Management Lecture Series" (VOL.5) was held successfully as scheduled in the E 101 classroom. Shantou University Business and Management Education Center invited Associate Professor of Business School JI Yu to give 07, 08 grades post-graduate class course students a report on “how can China's private enterprises break through barriers to the growth of ideas”. 

JI Yun firstly introduced the development of private enterprises in our country, enabling them to acquire the whole of the current situation of China's private enterprises and have a more clear understanding and awareness. Then he analyzed major obstacles that private enterprises would face in the long-term growth in detail, pointing out that China's private enterprises’ own problems and challenges. He said two ways to breakthrough these obstacles: First, hire professional managers. Enterprises must be run by person who can produce profits. Second, China's flexible management thinking. He said that we should learn new management approach from traditional Chinese culture. He pointed out that the development of private enterprises in China had a bright future but has tortuous road. During the lecture, he provided many vivid examples combined with knowledge and practical theory to stimulate thinking.
 
After the lecture, JI Yun and students made interactive communications and he listened carefully to participants’ problems from the business community and gave detailed answers. His expertise and dedication was praised by students. The lecture made a successful conclusion with warm applause of the participants.
 
Speaker Profile:

Ji yun was associate professor of Business School, Ph.D. in economics and graduated from Lingnan College of Zhongshan University. He participated in a number of the National Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation researches as main members. He published several papers about entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs’ mechanisms and innovative activities, the growth of professional managers, and private enterprise management in domestic core journals. He has six years experience in corporate management. He also participated in many strategic designs for organizations or companies such as Southern Medical University and Guang-Sheng Group. His current research interests include: Innovative activities of entrepreneurs, family businesses growth, the management thought in Guoxue.
