The H-TWC team, from Shantou Business School, won two awards in the Asia Venture Challenge 2014; namely, the Social Impact Award and the Best Written Business Plan. The event was held from 11 to 13 March 2014. The team worked under the guidance of Prof. King WU. ELC teachers Chanchal Singh and Sohani Gandhioke, provided the team with intensive Presentation Skills Training and Stage Confidence. The participating team H-TWC consisted of four members; namely, Deng Lijun from Industrial Economics of 2012, Peng Meihua from Mechanics of 2012, Xi Boying from Accounting of 2013, and Xie Guohui from Marketing of 2012.
The ASIA VENTURE CHALLENGE, which is one of most prestigious venture competitions in the Asian business venture competitions, is held every year by Thammasat Business School, to encourage postgraduate and undergraduate students in business administration programs across Asia, to become more entrepreneurial. The final winner of the competition is expected to participate in the Venture Labs Investment Competition, to be held at Texas University in USA in the month of May 2014. The 12 participating teams that advanced to the Semi-finals are all from Asian countries and districts, namely, China, Thailand, India, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
H-TWC team have to thank Professor King WU and the ELC Teachers Rachel Singh and Sohani Gandhioke for the coaching and training sessions before the competition, The Li Ka Shing Foundation for funding the program, Shantou University Business School and Graduate School for their continuing support.
