No. 9, "Enterprise Management Lecture Series" was held successfully in E101 on the afternoon of May 10. Shantou University Business and Management Education Center invited Associate Professor School of Business Lin Quan to give a lecture to 07, 08 grades Post-graduate course students. The topic of this lecture was” Enterprise information technology strategic planning-- new arms of winning business management in new era” with the aim of upgrading students’ ability of strategic thinking skills, comprehensive and correct understanding of the meaning of enterprise information, recognizing the importance of information strategy and learning how to use the methods of professional information technology to make strategic planning.
Dr. Lin Quan, first of all, used two cases of the pros and cons-- Wal-Mart and other failure cases to introduce the importance of "information technology" in the future. Then, through theoretical analysis, Lin told us that in the understanding of information technology benefits to the enterprise, we should be clearly noted that information technology itself does not mean an efficient and competitive advantage if they were not improperly used, such as internal business disaster consequences.
Subsequently, Lin explained the content of information’s strategic planning to students and analyzed different scope and depth of information-based competitive advantage and business relations in order to arrange the order of information and support the realization of the overall strategy for enterprise. After that, lin shared his research results in enterprise information integration strategy research to students.
Finally, Lin pointed out that in the information age, the "information industry" will be a separate industry with rapid development in the future and it will profoundly affect people's production and way of life. To compete successfully in the context of globalization, any business must be able to correctly use information and information technology; there is a need in the right understanding of information technology on the basis of strategic planning to do a good job. At last, LIN answered students’ questions with patience.

LIN Quan, Associate Professor of Business School, Xiamen University and the University of Washington doctoral student co-culture. He participated in a research project as a core member of the National Natural Science Foundation and the person in charge of the technical aspects of Ministry of Educations the New Century Network Course construction project. Be responsible for or participated in a number of large-scale and large domestic enterprises horizontal research projects involving strategy, information technology, and organizational structure design in many areas. He published over 10 papers in the domestic and foreign professional journals and magazines. His main researches are Organization Theory, Enterprise’ Information and his main teaching courses are ERP, Organization Theory, and Organizational Behaviors.
