The Business School's 10th Academic Conference was held on 31st May. Guest lecturer Dr Long Yue'e delivered a lecture on studies on reconciling Chinese accounting standards with their international counterparts and the effects. Professor Yao Ming'an chaired the conference.
Dr Long stressed 3 points in the lecture. Firstly, whether the implementation and associated reconciliation would lead to more reliable and relevant information for managers; secondly, how have investors perceived the financial reports generated with new sets of standards; lastly, Dr Long analysed the possible difficulties that may be confronted by auditors in investigating data and ledgers.
The lecture has been inspiring and particularly helpful for accounting students.
