Associate Dean Nick Turner (Research & Graduate Program) and Associate Dean David A. Stangeland (Programs & Administration) from Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, Canada, visited Shantou University on 22nd November.
A welcome dinner was hosted by STU Provost Prof Peihua Gu.
On the second day of the visit, Prof Danming Lin, Vice President of Shantou University, Mr Xuequan Liao, Director of STU International Cooperation Department, met and had a meeting with the two Canadian guests at the Academic Conference Centre. A number of Business School Professors, including Prof Chenxi Yao, Prof Guang Tian, Prof Yi Wang, Prof Xiangzhi Bu, Professor Ying Kong, Prof Dan Trotter, Prof Francis Piron also attended the meeting.
Discussions mainly focused on the ongoing student exchange program and feasibility of further cooperation in broader areas between the two schools.
Prof Turner and Prof Stangeland introduced to the attendees the cooperative programs U of M has established with universities in China and Europe, including the PhD training program with ZurichUniversity.
Prof Lin indicated that STU BusinessSchool is highly interested in cooperation in undergraduate and postgraduate exchange programs, as well as training and internship projects.
Both parties consented that further identification of areas of cooperation would be necessary.
In the end of the meeting, Prof Lin and Mr Liao, on behalf of Shantou University, presented souvenirs to the guests.
