Awards for “2009 Global Entrepreneurship Week China”were revealed on Jan 22, 2010. Shantou University SIFE team was awarded “ Successfully Invitation to Lecturer” and “Incentives for SOB Execution ”because of its excellent performance in the activity entitled “My Initiatives”Besides,exceling among the 45 SIFE teams who paticipated in the patrol of The Week, it was granted “The Best Innovation Team”, becoming one of the eight winners for the single prize.
The “2009 Global Entrepreneurship Week China” was initiated by Shanghai Enterpreneurship Foudation Group, with the support from the instruction committee composing the China Association for Promoting Democracy, the Ministy of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of Communist Youth League, and the Shanghai Municipal Government. With the theme of “Pooling Wisdom, Enpoweing Enterpernurship” , the range of activities and initiatives, happening during The Week, included the international entrepreneurship summit, enterpreneurs’ reaching out to 46 Institutions of Higher Learning in 18 cities, and innovation competitions. The week-long activies have become a key driver for promoting entrepreneurship in China by bring together public and private sector partners.
STU SIFE co-hosted The Week in Shantou University, and conducted a series of activities around the titile“My Initiatives”. On 19 November 2009, a observation group, consisting of 36 senior students and graduates, visited five enterprises founded by alumni from Shantou University Business School. The participants got a chance to meet the entrepreneurs/senior management behind these companies, have a peek at what drives these passionate people and see how they build illustrious companies. On 21st, an enterprenurship exchange seminar was held in Shantou University. Chan Lewu, the general manager of Guangdong Mengshi Industrial Group Co., and Zhang Shiwu, CEO from Ya Qi Cosmetic Company, delivered useful messages to nearly a hundred audinece. In addition, three schoolmates, who have become successful entrepreneurs, shared some golden tips from the entrepreneurial mavericks themselves with the students present. They were the founder of Yongtu Science and Technology Limeted., initiator of Shunde Ren.com, and Wu Yabo, manager from headquaters of PCI.
