On March 24, 2021, at 11:00 am, Professor Henry Schellhorn and Associate Professor Michael Imerman from Claremont Graduate University (US) held an online program promotion meeting for Shantou University, which has attracted many faculty and students from Shantou University School of Business. Ms. Tracy XU from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of the school hosted the meeting.
Firstly, Associate Professor Michael Imerman, as the director of the cooperative program, introduced the basic information of the Master program of Financial Engineering in Claremont Graduate University, including curriculum, faculty, teaching characteristics, employment advantages, domestic and international reputation, etc. He also focused on the competitive advantages of the program and analyzed the innovative trend of financial technology application in the future, from which the students had a further understanding of the program.
After that, Prof. Henry Schellhorn shared his academic views on "Financial Engineering at CGU" and "The Economics of Fin Tech: Understanding Digital Transformation in Financial Services” for the students. He also talked about the latest trends of financial engineering and his research projects. At the end of the meetiing, the two professors patiently and seriously answered questions for our faculty and students.
The conference enabled our students to have a deeper understanding of the Master program of Financial Engineering at Claremont Graduate University and matters related to studying in the U.S. It stimulated students' enthusiasm to participate in this international exchange program and provided important references for students to further their future planning. The online conference was a complete success.
