【During the Case Analysis】
Ivey has a very innovational “Live Case” model, firstly teachers led all of the participants to a company, and the company’s manager presented their products to us. After that, the managers and technology member presented the condition and problems of their company, and answered our questions. And then, we were arranged in enclosing seminar room, 15 hours for case preparation in 2 days, research information, discussing case, and rehearsing.
During two days, apart from 15 hours of case analysis, we had a series of social events, like party and performances, play bowling ball. Ivey’s case study slogan is “work hard, play hard.” After intense physical and mental exercise, we were all exhausted every day. But we still had to analyze the case, making full use of every minute.
Through fierce competition, four chosen teams became finalists: Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, Heavener University of Florida, HKUST Business School, Sauder School of Business. Finally, Hong Kong Technology University won the first place. During the competition, we experienced how the real consultants analyze the case, and learn some case study skills from another international schools, had a special learning experience.
【Society Events】
Society Events are an integral part of the competition and designed to reflect the “Work Hard, Play Hard” attitude of the Richard Ivey School of Business. Our representative team attended all Society Events actively, such as Welcome Dinner, award ceremony and bowling match. Our students had a great performance during these events.

After six months’ training, three months’ preparation and three day’s competition, we all not only improve our ability to apply what we learn from textbooks into practice, but also strengthen our ability to analyze problems and solve them. Our perspective of the world has gotten wider and our ability to capitalize on future opportunities has been improved. We gain a lot.
We really appreciate Professor King Wu’s guidance, supporting and encouragement, Chanchel and Sohani’s great help and hearty suggestions from those who have taken part in some case competitions before.
