Time : 2010-12-09
The 2010 BRCIS (Abbreviation for the Initials of the 5 emerging economies) Students Meet, hosted by Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), was held between 26th and 28th November in Bangalore, India. A team of 11 comprised of MBA students, undergraduates and postgraduates, was sent to represent STU to join the event with other delegates from Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen the corporation among the attending business schools while enhancing the friendship among the participants. Scheduled components of the event include management games, debates on the Copenhagen Climate Conference, Business Quiz session as well as culture-featured performances. Team STU took part actively in every individual session and won the second place in the Business Quiz.

The stay in Bangalore was short yet memorable. Professor J. Philip, one of the founding members of the BRICS Students Meet, complemented Team STU members on the talents revealed in the cultural shows and the fluency of English speaking. He also made a number of suggestions from a professional viewpoint for the success host of next year’s BRICS event by STU.

According to Team STU members, the event has broadened their international visions while provided the opportunity for them to promote the knowledge regarding the distinctiveness of Chinese culture, and to make new friends across the world.

The valuable and referential experiences gained by STU delegates will be indispensible for the Business School in the preparation for hosting next year’s event.
