In order to improve students’ business skills and quality, and let them experience the advanced business education of North America, Shantou University Business School chose eight students to participate in the program of 2010 International Summer Institute for Business Management (ISIBM) held byUniversity of Victoria in Canada.
From Aug 2th to 20th, the eight students lived and studied together with students from Japan, Korea and Belgium etc. The ISIBM program was divided into two parts—— “Business Communication” and “International Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Innovation and Service Industry Management”.
In the module of Business Communication, Professor Brian Leacock, the Associate Director of International Program, Business School of University of Victoria, gave the students a lively introduction. Through case study and firm management analysis, the courses improved the students’ writing and oral presentation skills.
In the module of Business Communication, there were also 39 periods in “International Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Innovation and Service Industry Management”. 3 critically acclaimed courses were included.
In the final exams, the eight students from STU all gained excellent grades. What’s more, they performed well in the final presentations. Besides, all kinds of extracurricular activities were arranged. The students enjoyed Canadian cultures and visited some places of interest in the city of Victoria.
