In the semester of 2016 Spring, Shantou University Business School welcomed 3 international exchange students, whose names were Ruby, Grace and Veronica, from McGill University of Canada.
Among the three of them, Grace and Veronica are both Canadian born Chinese, which allow them to get used to the life in Shantou quite easily. And for Ruby, he is very good at learning things of China, such as how to use chopsticks and how to pronounce some names of the food in Mandarin.
In the first few days in STU, the exchange students walked around STU campus and had a hiking trip to the Sangpu Mountain in the company of STU international buddies, Cecilia and Rick from Business School, and also tried a lot of Chaoshan characteristic food and snacks.
For their academic life in STU this, they choose some bilingual or English courses of Business School such as Doing business in China, Principles of Marketing, Global Enterprise Management, etc. What’s more, they also choose some special courses from Center for Global Studies, such as Food and Culture, Applied Ethics. In addition, STU provides them with Chinese language courses to guide them in Chinese expression and culture learning. Thanks to the efforts of STU business school, this will hopefully become the unforgettable experience for our exchange students in their life journey.
