The life as an exchange student in France has come to its end. We believe that this will become a treasure in our life and that when we tell this experience to others, it would help them to learn more about France or even the countries that we met its people.
The first day we came to EM Normandie, Diana, an American professor who teach Multi Culture Management introduced different education system in different country. According to Dianna, in France they prefer ‘’pull system ‘’. That means that professors would teach knowledge in the class and through case study and group discussion to achieve knowledge. On the other way, French education system is between China and North American.
Our first class was business startup Our professor is an experienced investor before, having invested in many different industries. This class gave us deep impression because our professor encourages me to be our self’s boss. At the same time, he told us it is very important of finical data. Without detailed business plan, nobody would like to invest in the company. In his class, firstly we learn a lot finical knowledge to build up finical statement in 5 years. Then we thought about our target customer and marketing plan.

The course of the program EBP that EM normandie provided, like French culture, Doing Business in France and Multicultural Management, indicated that the host school wants us to learn more about French culture so as to export its culture, like that our school gives those exchange students lessons like “GUANXI”. In the introduction of French culture, I realize that the charming culture of France has similarity to Chinese culture and also has its uniqueness.
With the exception of learning French culture, teachers also encouraged us to compare with different cultures, and introduce our culture to others. In the presentation of Multicultural management, we analyzed the formation of cultures of each group member based on the theories of Kluckhorn and Srodtbcek.
Through the learning based on culture communication, it made us realize that the meaning of being an exchange student: To know more about others and to break the stereotype of our own culture.
