On Mar.5, 2009,theexperience-sharing session of Black Soil team was held in the Conference Room III in ACC. Black soil team has just returned from The Mai Bangkok Business Challenge @Sasin on behalf of STU. With the support of leaders and teachers of Business School, Black Soil successfully advanced to the semi-final and competed with teams from 13 countries and nations to pursue The King of Thailand’s Award during 25th Feb to 2nd Mar. Teammates made summaries of experiences and lessons and made exchanges with other graduates and SIFE members. Prof. Xu Zongling and Party branch secretary Chen Motian attended the meeting.
The session was chaired by Prof. Wang Wei and Secretary Chen Motian made briefly speech. He encouraged this anticipation would expand our international perspective and strengthened the international exchange. Then Liu Zhenjie introduced the basic information about his teammates and the questions they met in the first round. He said that on 7th sep 2008 Mai Bangkok Business Challenge @Sasin invited our school to take part in the challenge and our college formed 3 teams. At last, only black soil and his teammates Liu Zhenjie, Gu Liang, Chen Ting and Xiang Xunyong successfully entered the semi-finals.
On 6th mar 2009, the teammates were very excited and also felt much pressure after they knew their success. Because once they were there, they were not only on behave of our school but also on behave of our country. So the team quickly put their hearts in writing the business plans. There were many difficulties to overcome because of the 25 pages of the English version of business plan and the tight time. Liu Zhenjie and Chen Ting even had no time to return home to have the spring festival! Then Prof. Wang Wei conducted a number of modifications to the plan and invited experienced Prof. Hosein to make some depth instructions. Prof. Wang Yi, Xie Wenli and other teachers made helps to the preparations before the competition. Then Chen Ting and Xiang Xunyong introduced the game’s process: showing in 99 seconds, semi-finals and the displaying of risk. Finally Gu Liang summed up experiences and lessons of this game .He concluded as follows: Project selection, Team-building prepared earlier, Constant practice, Communications with teachers. Prof. Wang Yi introduced how to make statements during the competitions and how to think things as Professional managers.
Finally, Prof. Xu Zongling commended the fighting spirit of teachers and their teammates. She also issued the certificates to the teammates. The communicating session will strengthen the identity and mission of Business School and also there will be another new platform for the Graduates and the Undergraduates to communicate to each other.
