Time : 2014-10-23
Recently, Two students from Business School, YangZhen and Wei Xuewei, finished their 4-months study in University of Manitoba and came back to STU.

In October, 2013, YangZhen and Wei Xuewei were chosen to exchange to University of Manitoba, Canada for winter semester, with the sponsor of Chinese Scholarship Council. (1500$ per month and a return-trip air ticket).

In winter semester, each student chooses 3 lessons like Financial modeling, Monetary Economics, Fundamentals of Marketing. Intimate class sizes and dynamic courses provide students with opportunities to exchange ideas and dig deep into the issues and challenges of today’s business world. the award-winning faculty members are committed to contributing to the creation of new knowledge while guiding you to find your passion and succeed – before and after graduation. Furthermore, ICS (International center for students) helps exchange students quickly adapt into a new environment and learn Winnipeg comprehensively. Two students performed well in lessons and really enjoy the 4 month in Manitoba. Besides, Yang and Wei take part in the activities held by ICS like Opera festival, lesson buffet and museum travel.

Personal idea
Firstly,I was so appreciate for the business School, my Professor and Miss Kim. Thanks them provide this chance and help me a lot. This is the first time I study abroad for a whole semster. After I get off the airplane in Winnipeg airport, so lucky to find one freshman from Chemstry School who help me a lot. Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba, not really metropolis but a warm, peaceful city.

I choose 3 lessons in Asper Business School, Financial modelling, Marketing and Macroeconomics. you can feel a lot of differences in classes between ST U and Asper. Students seems more active, more freedom, less limitations. The first time I saw my teammate hyo, who late for half an hour, said good morning to professor with a cup of coffee. Every course must need preview and review and it is better for you to participant in the class discussion. Attendence not means u are a good student for listening and reading but talking. At first, I feel surprised that professor can remember everyone who answer the question, the content of his answer, the frequency.  I met my most respect professor, Ying Zhang.  She is so smart and professional, an charming lady. She teachs me a lot not only the courses itself but how adapt into a new culture. When I do my final analytical report, show me how to write a professional report and do research.

Not just life in Asper, but I look italy opera, go camp and Wedding will. That’s all bring new experiences. Thanks for the life in Winnipeg.
