On April 12, the final competition of the 8th “AIA QIU ZHI WANG CHINESE COMPETEION” was held in Shandong University. TANG Yan, a student of 06 accounting of our school competed with students from Peking University, the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Xiamen University and other over 20 Universities. LIANG Yan, a student of 07 accounting and LIU Xiaolu, a student of 07 Business Management also attended the competition. AIA Hong Kong Branch of the International Accounting Association president Dr. He Mulin, Association of International Accountants AIA Hong Kong Branch of the former president, AIA Organizing Committee Chairman Dr. Tan Xuelin, AIA Hong Kong Branch Chairman Mr. Yang Jiesheng, Shandong Province People's Political Consultative Conference Vice-Chairman LI DeQiang, Vice president of Shandong University, Fan Liming and represents from Berlitz Language Training Center attended the meeting.
There were Chinese and English parts in AIA competition and each part included a five minutes speech and one minute ask-answer course. After the speech, juries asked questions on the lecture topic to test athletes’ reaction and their language skills. The juries of Chinese were AIA Hong Kong Branch of the International Accounting Association president Dr. He Mulin, AIA Hong Kong Branch Chairman Mr. Yang Jiesheng, the Head of the Department of the Hong Kong University accounting Professor Chen Tianyou and represent from Berlitz Language Training Center Mr.Jason Liu. The juries of English were Dr. He Mulin, Mr. Yang Jiesheng, Professor Chen Tianyou and Mr.Jason Liu.
There were Champion, Runner-up, Second Runner-up and 8 Merit Awards. Champion would receive a cash prize of 10,000 yuan and a trophy, Runner-up with a cash prize of 5,000 yuan and a trophy and Second Runner-up with a cash prize of 3,000 yuan and a trophy. The other 8 Merit Awards would receive a cash prize of 1,000 yuan and a trophy. In this competition, a student Liu Xiao from the Ocean University of China won the championship, student LIN Jiaweifrom from the University of Hong Kong and student from from Beijing Jiaotong University, shared the runner-up, 8 students from University of Finance and Economics and other Universities received Merit Awards. Guests gave awards to winners and took photos as a souvenir. The meeting made a successful conclusion of this competition.
After the game, players of our school took the initiative to conduct exchanges with the judges and learned many experiences from them. Judges conformed our competitors’ calm and cool-headed in the game and the cooperation of our school’s foreign exchange. They wished that our school would make better results in the next AIA competition.
"AIA Qiuzhi Wang Chinese Competition" was launched since 2002 and each year many students to participate in it from the Mainland and Hong Kong’s well-known colleges and universities. Competition aimed at enhancing the contemporary college students in the Mainland and Hong Kong the use of English speech, thought, etc. and made students adapted to the increasingly fierce competition in the job.
