Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education officially announced the list of key scientific research platforms and projects for general universities in 2022. Business School was approved one key laboratory of philosophy and social science, one innovation team project (humanities and social science), and one special project in key areas (science and technology service for rural revitalization) for general universities in Guangdong Province. Among them, the Key Laboratory of Digital Management and Intelligent Governance in East Guangdong, which is under the charge of Prof. Danming Lin, was approved as the Key Laboratory of Philosophy and Social Science in General Universities of Guangdong Province, which is the first provincial key laboratory in the field of humanities and social sciences in our university, providing a new research platform for the development of cross-fertilization of disciplines.
The key laboratory is led by Business School and jointly declared by Law School and College of Science. The laboratory will focus on three research fields, including smart supply chain, Internet medical management and smart city management to provide technical platform support, explore new paths, new methods and new paradigms of social science research through cross-fertilization of disciplines. It also takes the initiative to meet the major needs of regional economic and social development in eastern Guangdong, providing intellectual support in decision-making research, professional consultation and talent cultivation for the development of Shantou as the "Highland of Trade", "Highland of Medical Care" and "Highland of Education".
