On January 29th, 2010, the Business School convened the 17th construction and development strategy seminar at the STU Academic Exchange Center. This seminar focused on the first year’s work of eight-years of planning. The Executive President of STU, Prof. Peihua GU, was invited to the meeting and made an important speech. Business School advisory committee member, Prof. Erming XU and staff of STU also attended this seminar.
First of all, Dean Zongling XU introduced the eight-year plan on the theme of “Building characteristics and creating brand”. Dean XU talked about the key points and difficulties from the aspects of background for the eight-year plan, the history and status of our school, our school’s mission, development goals, planning and strategy. Executive President of STU, Prof. Peihua GU confirmed the achievements that the Business School had gained and hoped that the Business School would develop faster. Prof. Erming XU made some guidelines to the work plan of the STU MBA program.
At the second seminar, vice Dean, Yangfeng OU and other five department directors made detailed reports on the teaching managements in the new academic year.
Director of Chinese Economic Research Institute, Prof. Yan HUANG and director of Taiwan Research Institute, Prof. Qiong CAO introduced the works in 2009 and 2010 at the third seminar.
At the forth seminar, the MBA Education Center and the School Office reported the work done in 2009. Prof. Danming LIN summarized the conduction of EPAS accreditation and discussed the time for applying EPAS accreditation with the faculty of the school.
At last, Prof. Motian CHEN made a conclusion. This seminar closed in a harmonious atmosphere.
