Business School held 2010 International Conference of Graduate Entrepreneurship

         On Sept 6th, The 2010 International Conference of Graduate Entrepreneurship co-sponsored by Shantou University and Essex Business School (UK) was held at Shantou University. More than 10 experts and scholars from UK, Netherland, Hong Kong and Mainland China shared their research, practice and ideas in graduate entrepreneurship. Mr. Xie Zesheng,Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of Shantou government attended the meeting and made an important speech. Ms. Zhou Chongning, the Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of Shantou, Mr. Luo Nianchao, the Deputy Party Secretary of Shantou University, and Prof. Xu Zongling, Dean of Business School and all staff of Business School attended the conference. 

        Prof. Xu Zongling, Dean of Business School presided over the opening ceremony. Prof. Li Jun from Essex Business School (UK) introduced the background, preparations and expected achievements of this conference.
 
        In the keynote speech segment, Prof. Anderson from Aberdeen Business School,Robert Gordon University presented his ideas of“University’s role in graduate entrepreneurship” and discussed with scholars on the importance and necessity of graduate entrepreneurship. Prof. Chen Zhongwei, Vice-president of Anhui University of Finance and Economics made a speech titled “Practice and Cogitate on Entrepreneurship Education”. Professor Li Jun from Essex Business School made an objective analysis on “Graduate Entrepreneurship: Our Known and Unknown”.
 
       24 papers were collected and 9 writers shared their research opinions. Linking theory with practice, the scholars put forward proposals for graduate entrepreneurship. In the interactive session, they had a deep discussion on teaching and practice of graduate entrepreneurship.
 
      After this international conference, we believe entrepreneurship would create a better future and promote the continuous development of the society.
