On April 21
st, 2016, international students from Shantou University Business School attended the Mobile Class in Guangzhou. This programme is held by Business School International Affair Office and Guangzhou College of South China University of Technology. Dr. Lim Janghyuk, Associate Professor of Business School from Korea and Ms. Pricilla Liang, staff of Business School International Affair Office join the programme as Lead Teachers. International students who took part in the mobile class includes Daniella BARNEY, Wai Yee Law, Niamh Melissa COLLUM, Grace CHEN and Ruby THELOT.
The STU group received warm welcome and well-receoption from staff and students of Guangzhou College once they arrived in Guangzhou. Guangzhou College arranged different kind of activities for the teachers and students from STU. On the first day, STU students took part in the Welcome Ceremony, Icebreaking Game and visited the campus. A lecture titled with C
hina’ s Economy under Change was given to the students by Prof. WU Liguang, Dean of International Business School in Guangzhou College in the morning of the second day of visit. After the lecture, STU students visited The Unipres Guangzhou Corporation and the China Leather Industrial Cultural, in order to conduct investigations in local companies in Guangzhou. The students raised interesting questions during the visit, which were then answered by the staff of the companies. In the rest days of their journey, the STU group also visit the Mineral Garden of Stone, the Li Wan Chong and the Huacheng Square. In the evening, they also spent time on the Evening Boat Ride on the famous Pearl River in Guangzhou.
By taking part in this program, international students from STUBS have been introduced to a different kind South China culture, which is called Lingnan (south of the Five Ridges) culture.
Both the international students and Shantou University Business School appreciate the great assistance and support of Guangzhou College, South China University of Technology. Both sides hope to create more cooperation opportunities for the students in the the future.
