A group of some 40 students and teachers from the Business School visited the construction site and the coordination office of the Chao Shan Airport on 4th of November. The group was comprised of Deputy Dean Ouyang Feng, Professor Huang Yan, Senior Advisor of Student Affairs Chen Motian, general branch secretary Li Yue, vice secretary Chen Yinlin, Ms Su Bingtian and Ms Cui Weiwei from the youth committee and some staffs and student cadres and party members of the School.
The site was roughly one hour drive from Shantou University. With just a streamlined contour, the seemingly magnificent and modern future terminal buildings drew great interests from the group. After hearing a brief introduction to the general planning of the construction, the group proceeded to the coordination office and had a meeting with Mr Xu Jingui who is the vice chief coordinator. Mr Xu explained to the group the current progress of the construction and revealed the prospects for future development of the airport. He also discussed with the students the possible effects in various aspects the airport may bring to the entire Chaoshan region, while shared with the group some difficulties encountered and the feasible solutions.
The visit had comprehended the group’s understanding on the economic factors the new airport may bring to the Chaoshan region hence its importance.
