On the evening of Mar 13, 2009, undergraduates of Grade 2008 invited several professors to hold a major introduction meeting in the Lecture Hall No.1. Ms. SU Bingtian and Ms. CUI Weiwei, advisors of Grade 2008, attended this meeting which was hosted by YANG Yibin, the class committee member in charge of study issues.
Deputy Dean of Business School, Prof. OU Yangfeng was invited as a special guest to the meeting, who introduced characteristics of each major and the basic principles to choose major. Prof. YAO Hongxin, Associate Prof. WANG Yi, LIU Wei and BU Xiangzhi were also invited to the meeting and discussed with great patience with students about the study direction of several majors such as international economics, marketing management, logistics management and accounting, each major’s requirement towards students’ quality and ability and career prospect of each major. It helped students know further about how to choose their own major to study. Besides, the class advisor Ms. SU Bingtian and the Deputy Director of the University Students’ Recruitment Office Mr. ZENG Rui provided suggestions and guidance to students. The meeting ended in a warm applause.
The meeting helped students have a further knowledge of their own major, make their own objective clearer and tale an important step towards their own direction in study.
