Dear Elite QCCC Contestants,
Welcome to join the AIA QCCC 2009 Final Round to be held in the Science Hall, Shandong University, Jinan on Sunday, 12 April, 2009 at 9:00 am.
The Association of International Accountants (AIA) http://www.aiaworldwide.com/has been working hard to create a platform to facilitate academic and exchange for university students in the region for the past several years, and I believe you can also benefit from the coming exciting and memorable bi-lingual competition.
Before you depart for Shandong University, I would like to remind you several things below:
l Topics
Morning Session : Mandarin (Each contestant has 5 minutes for the speech and 1 minute for the rebuttal.)
Mandarin Topic
The 2008 Bejing Olympics have achieved a great success. China has attained so many gold medals whose number has surpassed the U.S.. The 11th National Sports Meeting will be held in Shandong Province in October this year. It will also be a great event for Shandong Province in 2009.
What long-term benefits do you think it will bring the host province and city from hosting such a great event. The benefits can be specified as citizens’ knowledge about sports, the importance of health and the contribution to commerce and tourism, etc.. Please take the successful cases of the previous host provinces and cities as examples.
Afternoon Session: English (Each contestant has 5 minutes for the speech and 1 minute for the rebuttal.)
English Topic
The AIA QCCC 2008 Final Round putonghua topic has correctly highlighted that the U.S. subprime crisis would affect the global economy. That was just the beginning. The consequences are now rolling over to smaller Eastern European and other developing countries.
In your opinion, how will the “financial tsunami” be resolved? Does President Obama have any ability to put the world economy back in order? Alternatively, can China help the world rebuild the economy more rapidly?
