Business School Held the Opening Ceremony for Freshmen of Grade 2018

      On Sep 13, 2018, the opening ceremony for freshmen of Grade 2018 of Business School was held in the lecture hall of the science building.
 
      The opening ceremony started with the national anthem of China. Prof.Zongling Xu (Principle Assistant), Prof.Erming Xu (Dean of Business School), Dr.Jian Gao(CPC Secretary), Prof.Xiangzhi Bu(Associate Dean), Prof.Yue’e Long(Associate Dean) and all faculties of Business School presented in this ceremony.


 
      Firstly, Prof.Xianyang Zeng, the faculty representative, gave a speech. He shared his own study experience with students, and encouraged them to find interesting subjects in their major. “When you have difficulties in study, you should dare to ask teachers for advice. When you encounter failure, you should not give up and feel sorry for yourself. You should learn from your lessons and make greater efforts.” 



      After that, the representatives of graduate and undergraduate students gave their speeches.
 
      Dean Erming Xu then made a speech. He welcomed all the Business School freshmen and introduced the culture of Chaoshan area and the development of Business School. He told the students that the school would develop based on the strategy of “Go Mainstream, Create Features, Root in Local, Race to the World” and try to provide the students with better study conditions and opportunities. He hoped that students could become talents with “Aspiration, Knowledge, Perseverance, Achievement” after 4-year undergraduate study and wished all the students could learn and benefit from university life.


 
       Finally, Prof.Zongling Xu (Principle Assistant of STU) made a speech. She shared her feelings and gains during her 30-year working life at Shantou University. Looking back on the development of Business School, she urged the students to treasure resources, learn time management and wished all the students could enjoy a happy learning process in Business School.


 
      The opening ceremony successfully ended in the university song “Da Xue Wen”.
