STU Students Came back from EBS

Time : 2015-09-10
We did stayed in Paris for 4 months. Every day here is precious for me. I have transformed from a visitor into a Parisian. I have experienced different culture and mindset within the shortly 4-month. What’s more, I have met a better me here.

Everything is new for me the first moment when I got here. I can’t wait to explore here when facing different people. At the same time, I know I have to adjust myself as quickly as possible. It seems easy and seems u can handle every daily work, but you really need to spend enough time on it. At the beginning, cooking can even cover a big part of my time. As time goes by, I can manage my time better and gradually balance it well. Learning, doing sports, and even learning a little bit French. I got to know some local friends and played basketball with them, sharing what I experienced here and every surprising thing. French guys actually are not really good at expressing themselves in English. However, body language is common for human being so actually it’s quite fun.

Before I came here, I was afraid that my poor English cannot support my study in financial courses here, but life will let you know how to solve when you only got one way to go, that is trying really hard to learn. One interesting thing is that financial system is common all over the world since different words in different language leads to the same meaning. Thanks to the courses I have already learned in STU, it’s not hard to understand what professor was talking about. What’s different is that it emphasized more on practice here. The professor shared the latest cases and news, analyzing it with the theoretical knowledge. It makes me feel more interested in financial and business world.

Since students in my class are from different part of the world, Russia, Germany, Spain and some other countries, our mindsets and the ways to consider the same problem are diverse. European students can directly put forward their opinions whenever they want to share, especially when they are not agreeing with the professor. You may thought they are not listening to the professor carefully, but actually they are following up quite well mentally. After class, they are free to have fun and easy to get along well with. It’s quite a new experience to cooperate with them. We share different ideas but it didn’t cause conflict. Instead we try to understand each other and try to find a solution that combines our ideas. I got a new understanding of teamwork. The 4-month study here confirms my future plan in business. Another thing impressing me is never too late to learn. I can see French people reading books and newspaper on train, subway, bus, wherever. We, instead, watching on our smart phones and everyone is isolated. It’s kind of French culture that people can make use of every piece of time to learn.

The world is so big that we want to have a look. Try to catch every opportunity and seize my day.
