STU students participated in 2015 McGill Management International Case Competition

[Brief Introduction]
The McGill Management International Case Competition is a world-class undergraduate competition with a focus on globalization, innovation and multi-disciplinary thinking. Founded in 2001, the event has welcomed schools from over 20 countries to date. Organized with the close collaboration of the Montreal business community, MMICC is one of McGill University’s most prestigious events and the largest student-run event at the Desautels Faculty of Management. At this competition, teams have 32 hours to work through a business scenario, identifying key priorities, weighing benefits and addressing risks before drafting a strategic plan which they must present to a corporate judging panel. This year, Infinity consulting team including Xuewei Wei (2011 Accounting), Zhiming Li (2013 Marketing), Caiyu Nie (2013 Management) and Yantong Zhu (2013 Marketing) represent our business school to took part in this competition. At this competition, not only could they join the exciting case study competition, but they also experienced terrific social activities and made a lot of friends from foreign university.

[Competition]
At this competition, students got the case of a medical company McKesson. Participants had to solve the problems including marketing, supply chain management etc. and came out a power point of report within 32 hours. During the final presentation, participants had 20 minutes presentation times and 10 minutes for Q&A section. After a fierce competition, International team got the champion at last.

[Social Activities]
Besides case competition, organizer provided lots of chance for students to experience local culture and communicate with others, like inaugural cocktail party, karaoke night and snow tubing.

[Student’s Conclusion] 
At this competition, we were able to improve our ability to analyze and solve the problems. Also, this competition created a chance for us to experience Western culture and broaden our horizons. At last, we want to thank King Wu and Lin Zhang for spending their precious to train us, give us advices and encourage us. In addition, we want to thank Li Ka-shing Foundation for support us so much.
