Jan. Ninth 2013 to Jan. Twelfth 2013, the 31th Global Case Analysis Competition was held by Manitoba University Business School in Winnipeg, Canada. This competition aimed at improving the participants’ ability of Case Analysis. Also, only top Business Schools are invited in this competition from all over the world, such as the team from America, Mexico, China, and Ghana and so on. Our business school selects four students to take part in this competition, including Ma GuangJie (Grade 2009, International Finance), Wen JiaYun ( Grade 2010, Accounting), He ZiJie(Grade 2011, International Finance), Li MinLing (Grade 2011, Accounting), composing the team of Win-Win Consulting to present Shantou University Business School.
During this four days competition, the organizer arranged a compact and wonderful schedule for all participants, in addition to the exciting competition, also some social and tourism activities, which help the participants enrich the their experience and social ability.
Warm welcome & respect
As the only one team comes from Asian,Our team was welcome ardently and shown no more respect. There are two students coming from organizer receiving our team throughout the whole journey. Every team greet people from Shantou, China when our team mates arrived in the welcome cocktail party. And with our expression in the days that followed, Shantou University Team gained more respect.
Great Award
Throughout the competition, our team members have gotten great award. They won the second prize in the first round, they got a special reward in the brand recognition part and they won the international reward in the whole competition. However, the most valuable thing is their precious experience, but not what reward they’ve gained.

Exciting Competition
There are three rounds in this competition. In the first round, twelve teams were separated into three groups and they had to finish eight rounds marketing simulation in different industry on-line at their school. In the second round, teams were requested to hand in the content of presentation before they arrive in Winnipeg, Canada. In Jan. Eleventh 2013, teams had fifteen minutes to show the process of analysis and the solution of difficulties during the on-line simulation, also five minutes for Q&A session. Our Business School Team gave their presentation very well, which has won high reputation from their judges.
After this presentation, the organizers chose only one team from three groups. Although our Business School Team did not be access to the final round competition, they won the second prize in their industry competition. In Jan. Twelfth 2013, the final teams gave their presentations about the sponsor of this competition.
Conference & Mini Challenge
In Jan. Eleventh 2013, five professors from Manitoba University were invited to give presentations, including Tracy Bowman, Dave Kernaghan, Cathy Senecal, Manny Atwal, and Joseph Ranseth, who all are famous professors in their field. They offer the participants an opportunity to communicate and study with each other. In those two day, our team members learn much about Tourism science, Humanity, Presentations, Chinese cultural transmission and so on.
During the conferences, there is another significant part called Mini Challenge. All participants were assigned into different groups at random to take part in two small competitions, Brand recognition & Short Case Analysis of an Ice-cream Company, which provide an opportunity for all participants to study and exchange ideas with each other from different country. That is an international communication in its true sense.
Other Social Activities
Besides the competition and the conference, there are many social activities organizer arranged for all participants such as local sports-curling in a club, cocktail party, pizza tasting and so on.
Summary
MIMC is a great project which arranged various social activities for participants, including Welcome party, Sightseeing of Winnipeg, Local Sport-Curling and so on. At the same time, the completion is a valuable chance to learn and experience. Members of Shantou University Business School Team not only participated in those activities actively, but also displayed a good-spirit to the International students and gained a precious International friendship in this project.
With the guidance of Professor King Wu and WangMing Wang, Win-Win Consulting Team makes progress continuously and all team members really appreciate this opportunity and treasure the preparation process and competition experience. Our Business School Team learn a lot from a series of activities, such as the application of business acknowledge, abilities of social skill and the accumulation of international competition experience, which can train more international talents for our Business School.
