Time : 2013-03-27

In order to let business students improve their business skill, emerge the international perspective and experience the business operation and environment of North America, Business School selected two students, Kongxiang Ouyang, Jiangmin Huang, to participate the exchange program for one semester in Sep, 2012.

From 04th, Sep to 21st Dec, both of them studied with the business exchange students from France, Germany, Holland, Korea and Canada and had taken courses of 3rd or 4th year such as New Venture Analysis, Marketing, Management Science, Cost Accounting, Investment. They all pass the strict courses, especially Mr. Ouyang who had pass all the courses with A class. Furthermore, because the excellent performance in class, Mr. Ouyang became a member of one of the top two groups of the New Venture Analysis Course and was invited to participate the business plan competition sponsored by Young Presidents Organization (YPO) in March 2013. However, Mr. Ouyang cannot participate since he has to go back to China to prepare for graduation by that time. Apart from the academic study, Mr. Ouyang also participated volunteer organization called Shinerma Fundraise which is dedicated to raising fund for the cystic fibrosis research, leaving an unforgettable impression for the professors and other exchange students. And Miss. Huang also did a great job during the exchange program. She joined the Leadership Workshop which lasted for 7 weeks and organized by International Centre of Student, and participated different academic activities organized by Association of International Management Students (AIMS) and Asper School of Business Accounting Association (ASBAA). By the mean time, both of them had fully experienced the Canadian culture and International education.

After the four months study life, both students were impressed by the advanced education system, intriguing teaching methods and the freedom of class atmosphere. These experiences definitely would help Mr. Ouyang and Miss. Huang in their future study, interpersonal communication and career in a tremendous way. This exchange program would not be that important for both of the students without the diverse extra-circular activities, for instance, the Cederwood Camp which provided them the opportunity to hang out with students from all over the world; group project discussion, presentation, sport competition; career consultance meeting organized by Annual CA Wine & Cheese. Mr. Ouyang and Miss. Huang have improved their English skills and expanded their horizon.
