The Business School's 7th Academic Seminar was held on 22nd April at ACC. Guest lecturer, Professor Chen Tianyou of HKSYU, gave his lecture on The Reform of Education in Accounting.
Professor Chen first briefly introduced the development and history of education in accounting in the US. He then examplified and explained some sugguestions put forward by various organizations in the States and in HK. Comparing to merely developing bookeeping skills, Chen concluded, the focus on comprehensive education and the cultivation of sense of risk, creativity, writing, communication, etc, deserve more priority in modern accounting education.
