During 16th and 20th in August, 2011, Thammasat Undergraduate Business Challenge (TUBC) was held in Centara Grand Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. TUBC has been organized by BBA International Program of Thammasat University in every August since 1998.This year, Rongchang Huang from Business Administrative Department, Mengfei Zhang from International Finance Department, Mingrui Zhang from Accounting Department and Hui Chen from Marketing Department represented our school to participate TUBC as Phoenix Consulting. They competed with other teams from top business university in America, Holland, Australia, Singapore, Hongkong and Thailand. This is the first time that our students go abroad to participate case competition without a teacher. The four students were back to China safely on 23rd, August.
Shantou University was allocated in Division 2 with University of Sao Paulo from Brazil, Simon Fraser University from Canada and Singapore Management University by lot. Those teams are really the top teams and have many experiences in case competition. Finally, the champions were University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Queensland University of technology (Australia). University of Auckland won the third place.
This competition lasted ford days. Both the activities and competition schedule are organized by students in Thammasat University. During all the activities and competition, Phoenix Consulting was accepted with their excellent teamwork and good sociability and English skills. The four students did communicate widely and deeply with the host, judges and other teams and gave them T-shirts with our school logo as presents. Through communication, our team knew how to do better in case analysis and solution formulation as well as gained preicious experience. We all hope that students in Business School will perform better in the coming international case competition with this precious experience.
