Professors of Business School Participated in Nan’ao Forum 2008

     On 28th August, Nan’ao Forum 2008, which was co-organized by Taiwan Affairs Bureau of Shantou Government, the Municipal Transportation Bureau, Nan'ao government, the Taiwan Institute of Shantou University and other organizations and so on, was successfully held in the Yingbin Hotel of Shantou. This year, the theme of the seminar was “Direct transportation on the sea, Cooperation, Development and Win-win between Shantou and the Taiwan”. Many important representatives from government organizations in charge of Taiwan affairs attended the opening ceremony of this forum. A total of more than 100 delegates participated in the seminar, including leaders from the central and provincial departments on Taiwan affairs, guests of Taiwan, experts and scholars from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan areas and Mainland, people from port and shipping industry. Professors of BSSTU Prof. Xu Zongling, Vice-Prof. Chen Motian, Prof. Huang Yan, Prof. Du Mian, Vice-Prof. Cao Qiong and Research assistants of the Taiwan Institute of Shantou University Chen Jie, Cao Qiping were also invited to attend this forum.

    Around the theme of “Relations across Taiwan Straits and Direct transportation on the sea between Shantou and Taiwan”, experts and scholars at the meeting conducted an in-depth and lively discussion. During the seminar, Vice-Prof. Cao Qiong, representing the Taiwan Institute of Shantou University, delivered a speech—“Countermeasures on how to promote small-volume trade to Taiwan for Shantou areas” to the meeting, which was given high praise by the delegates.
