The School of Business Held the New Faculty Orientation Training

In order to better fulfill the fundamental task of moral education and character development, and to assist new faculty in quickly adapting to their teaching roles, a New Faculty Orientation Training session was held on September 27, 2023 in room C341 at the East Coast Campus of our School. The meeting was attended by the Vice Dean of our school, Long Yue'e, along with new faculty members, namely Lei Xi, Li Menglin, Chen Wenchuan, Liu Yufeng, Lin Junqin, Jiang Kangqi, and Wei Zhe, as well as the head of the Teaching Affairs Office, Ms. Huang Zhiqi, and Ms. Cai Jing. Vice Dean Long Yue'e presided over the training session.

 

During the meeting, Vice Dean Long Yue'e began by extending a warm welcome to all the new faculty members on behalf of the School. She then shared her own teaching experiences and insights, emphasizing her experiences and recommendations regarding teaching management, teacher-student interactions, and educational techniques. She patiently and comprehensively addressed the questions of the new faculty regarding teaching.

 

Following this, Ms. Huang Zhiqi, the manager of Teaching Affairs Office, provided a detailed explanation to the attending faculty members about relevant teaching management regulations. She covered topics such as classroom teaching conduct, curriculum requirements, assessment criteria, academic advising expectations, research group activities, and course evaluations. Furthermore, she gave a live demonstration of the operation methods and techniques for the new teaching system, the teaching quality assurance system, and the MYSTU platform.

This training session is aimed at helping new faculty members quickly adapt to the environment, and facilitate the betterment of their educational work.
