The 19th International Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Family Business, held at Shantou University, opened on the morning of November 18, 2023.
The conference was organized by the School of Business at Shantou University, the School of Management at Zhejiang University, and the School of Management at Sun Yat-sen University. Over 200 guests, including experts, scholars from research institutions, journals, companies and nearly 100 universities such as Zhejiang University, Renmin University of China, Sun Yat-sen University, Jilin University, Northeast University of Finance and Economics, Shantou University, and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, gathered to discuss and exchange ideas on the theme of "Healthy Development of Chinese Family Business in the New Development Pattern."
The opening ceremony of the symposium was presided over by Professor Liang Qiang, the Dean of the School of Business Shantou University. Professor Wang Quan, the Executive President of Shantou University, Professor Cai Li from Jilin University, and Professor Li Weiwen from Sun Yat-sen University delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
During the opening ceremony, Professor Wang Quan, the Executive President of Shantou University, Dr. Luo Minjie, the Executive Director of the Li Ka Shing Foundation Shantou University Development Fund, Professor Yan Aimin, the Vice Dean of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and Vice Director of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business Education Development Foundation, Professor Li Haitao, the Vice Dean of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business Degree Program, Professor Liang Qiang, the Dean of the School of Business Shantou University, and Ms. Chen Jun, the Deputy Director of the External Affairs Department at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business jointly unveiled the Shantou University-Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business China Family Business Joint Research Center.
Professor Xu Erming from Renmin University of China and Panyapiwat Institute of Management (Thailand), and Professor Li Weiwen from Sun Yat-sen University respectively hosted the keynote speeches. The conference also invited Professor Cai Li from Jilin University, Professor Chen Ling from Zhejiang University, Professor Li Xinchun from Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Li Haitao from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, Professor Shen Minghao from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Professor Lu Wenchen from City University of Hong Kong, Professor Alfredo De Massis from Free University of Bolzano, and Professor Peng Qian from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to deliver keynote speeches.
The 19th International Symposium on Entrepreneurship and Family Business will take place from November 17 to 19. It will feature over 100 topics for academic sharing and discussion through keynote speeches, parallel sessions, journal face-to-face sessions, young scholars forum, and research achievement award evaluation. The symposium aims to closely integrate the major needs of the national socio-economy with international frontiers, presenting a rich academic feast to all participants.
