The 33rd MBA South China Summit Successfully Held at Shantou University

On May 26, 2024, the 33rd China MBA South China Summit, themed "Wisdom Gathers in Chaoshan, Leading the Future", concluded successfully in Shantou, the shining pearl of eastern Guangdong. Hosted by the MBA South China Summit, the event was organized by the Shantou University School of Business, the MBA Education Center of the School, and the MBA Alumni Association of the School, with media support from the China MBA Network.

 

Over 200 guests attended the summit, including Yu Hong, Vice President of Shantou University; Lin Danming, Professor of the School of Business of Shantou University and Vice President of GTIIT; Xu Zongling, Chairman of the Shantou University Education Foundation; Liang Qiang, Dean of the School of Business and Director of the MBA Education Center; Kong Bo, Vice President of Orbbec; Wang Xinsheng, Senior Vice President and Global Partner of Siemens Advanta; Li Weining, Director of the MBA Program of the School of Business Administration of South China University of Technology; Su Bingtian, Deputy Party (CPC) Secretary of School of Business,STU; Meng Shu, Deputy Director of the MBA Education Center of the School of Business,STU; Li Hao, Executive Director of the China MBA Summit; Fan Jiaqi, Director of the MBA South China Summit; as well as leaders, teachers, representatives of the Federation Presidium, outstanding alumni representatives from MBA colleges and universities in the South China region, relevant media and sponsors, and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage.

Yu Hong extended warm congratulations on the opening of the summit and a warm welcome to the experts, scholars, business leaders, and MBA faculty and students from afar.

Liang Qiang introduced the development strategy of the Shantou University School of Business in the new era, the mission of the MBA program, and the exploration and achievements of the school in promoting education quality and student capability improvement.

Li Hao and Fan Jiaqi delivered speeches respectively on the development history, purpose, and philosophy of the China MBA Summit and the South China Summit.

 

Award Ceremony

 

To recognize the outstanding schools, collectives, and individuals in the South China region in 2024, the summit presented six awards, honoring over 100 outstanding groups and individuals.

After the awards ceremony, all guests witnessed the flag-passing ceremony of the MBA South China Summit. Meng Shu, Deputy Director of the MBA Education Center of the School of Business Shantou University; Lin Weicong, faculty of the School of Management of Jinan University; Mo Cuo, President of the MBA Alumni Association of the School of Business STU; and Xian Xianzhen, President of the Jinan University MBA Association, conducted the flag handover ceremony. The passing of the flag symbolizes the inheritance of the torch and marks Jinan University as the host of the next MBA South China Summit.

 

 


To express gratitude for the strong support of the Shantou University School of Business for this summit, Fan Jiaqi, Director of the MBA South China Summit, presented a "Rising steadily" sculpture to Liang Qiang, Dean of the School, on behalf of the South China Summit.

 

Keynote Speeches

Lin Danming delivered a keynote speech titled "Digital Transformation of MBA Education: Taking the <Strategic Management> Course as an Example", exploring the transformation and innovation of MBA education in the digital age.

Kong Bo delivered a keynote speech titled "3D Vision in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics", sharing the application and prospects of 3D vision technology in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics.

 

 

Parallel Forums

 

The summit featured three distinctive parallel forums: the South China Universities MBA Program Development Forum, the MBA Elite Forum, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Session. These three forums focused on different topics, providing participants with a platform for communication full of wisdom and inspiration.

 

 

 

 

 

The South China Universities MBA Program Development Forum was conducted in the form of a roundtable discussion. Leaders and teacher representatives from various universities discussed how to continuously optimize MBA education and cultivate more competitive business leaders in the wave of digitalization and intelligentization, and introduced and exchanged views on the MBA development of their respective colleges.

 

 

 

 

 

The MBA Elite Forum focused on economic and industry trends, inviting Wang Xinsheng, Senior Vice President and Global Partner of Siemens Advanta, to deliver a speech titled "Technology and Management Dual-drive to Empower Enterprise Digital Transformation".

 

 

 

 


This summit also innovatively set up an Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Session, showcasing the rich intangible cultural heritage of the Chaoshan region, providing a unique cultural experience platform for guests to interact with inheritors of intangible cultural heritage and experience the beauty of intangible cultural heritage up close.
