Business School, Shantou University Joins DFMD
On Nov.20, the European Foundation for Management Development(EFMD) has officially approved that Business School, Shantou University becomes the member of EFMD after strict qualification examination and voting.
EFMD is another international management education organization with great influence that Business School, Shantou University has joined after Business School, Shantou University joined AAPBS(Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools) in May, 2008. Business School, Shantou University will make good use of the platform of EFMD to reinforce the conversation and communication with other excellent business schools and corporations, promote academic exchange among teaching faculties and further realize the function of internationalized strategy service. At the same time, Business School, Shantou University will start to prepare for the application for EQUIS(European Quality Improvement System)international accreditation which is one part of EFMD and is planning to apply for this accreditation at a suitable time in order to further improve the status and influence of Business School, Shantou University in the world.
EFMD, founded in 1971, is an international membership organization, based in Brussels, Belgium. With more than 650 member organizations from academia, business, public service and consultancy in 75 countries, EFMD provides a unique forum for information, research, networking and debate on innovation and best practice in management development.
EFMD is recognized globally as an accreditation body of quality in management education and has established accreditation services for business schools and business school programmes, corporate universities and technology-enhanced learning programmes.
Within its scope, EFMD is committed to offer professionals and institutions involved with management learning and organizational development the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, relevant and diverse network sharing the common objective of developing effective and socially responsible leaders and managers. It is in this context that EFMD signed in 2003 a partnership agreement with the United Nations Global Compact and launched the Global Responsibility Invitation which in turn led to the creation of the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative.

Joining the EFMD is a milestone in the development of Business School of Shantou University. Business School, Shantou Unviersity will continue to work hard to seek European Programme Accreditation System (EPAS) or European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation as soon as possible.
