An exchange group from York University Canada, led by Associate Vice President International Dr Lorna L. Wright and accompanied by Dr Martin Singer (Dean of Liberal Art & Professional Studies) and Mr Paul Marcus (President of York Foundation ), visited Shantou University on 26th of October.
The group met and had a meeting with Shantou University delegates, including Vice President Professor Lin Danming, Business School professors Ms Yao Chenxi, Mr Francis Piron, associate professors Ms Kong Ying, Ms Wang Yi, Mr Tan Kun and Ms Xie Wenli. The meeting aimed to specify the details regarding further cooperation between the two universities on the basis of the consensus reached in the previous visit of Dr Wright in May this year.
Dr Wright briefed the current collaboration projects York University had established with six universities in China, indicating that York University is highly interested in SIFE student exchange and intern programs. Both parties established substantial discussions and consented on a number of specifics on various projects, including the cooperation with small and medium businesses and teaching staff exchange programs.
In the end of the meeting, Dr Wright bestowed gifts on the Business School on behalf of York University. With the pleasing atmosphere of the meeting, both parties agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation which certainly will benefit the internationalization progress of the Business School.
