Prof. Zeng Fanqi and Prof. Kong Ying Brought Shantou University SIFE to Visit SIFE World Cup in Singapore
On Sep 29, 2008, Prof. Zeng Fanqi and Prof. Kong Ying brought Shantou University SIFE to visit SIFE World Cup in Singapore. Shantou University SIFE members wanted to enlarge their view, communicated with excellent SIFE teams in the world, understood SIFE concept, learned from other SIFE teams, accumulated experience, and made good foundation for future construction and program development.
On the afternoon of Oct 1, Shantou University SIFE came to Singapore International Exhibition & Conference Center to join Culture Fair and open ceremony. On the culture show, SIFE teams from all over the world wore their special clothes, and used their own ways to express their nation characters. After SIFE President & CEO Douglas R. Conant’s open oration, all the SIFE teams from Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Africa, and Australia took part in entrance ceremony.
This race was divided into two days. The first day was preliminary contest; the morning of the second day was semifinal. After semifinal, Nigeria, India, Singapore, and Canada competed for the World Cup. At last, Canada won the Cup by “To help local corporation globalization” program.
During the match, each team had seven minutes to let judgers read annual report, then showed program in 24minutes, finally they had five minutes A&Q. With fluent English, excellent group cooperation, every team showed their outstanding spirit to the world. During A&Q, judgers asked sharp question, but pothunters’ instant reaction and perfect answer push the environment to the peak.
In the course of visit, Shantou University SIFE communicated with other countries’ SIFE team and understood their management construction. At the same time, Shantou University SIFE team also had a communication with SIFE high officials and introduced Shantou University and its SIFE team.
After this trip to Singapore, Shantou University SIFE team learned a lot from other SIFE member’s working passion, and recognized not only difference but also their own strength. All the members in Shantou University SIFE team confirmed their direction and goal.
