From June 2 to 3, "The Fourth Hong Kong Modern Accounting and Financial Research Methodology Seminar" which was jointly organized by GTA Finance College and Hong Kong University, had been held in Hong Kong University. Dr. Song Xiaobao and Lecturer Liu Wei of Shantou University Business School had been invited to participate in the seminar. There were totally 19 members respectively from 11 universities in mainland, such as Sun Yat-sen University etc, and The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong in this senior workshop.
This seminar was held in the form of lectures and discussions around the "international accounting, corporate governance theory and current research focus", on which experts discussed the dynamic development on international researches and how to promote the level of domestic research on this area, and other issues. Dr. Rui, Oliver Meng (Associate Professor, School of Accountancy of CUHK) introduced the cause of the sub-prime mortgage crisis and its possible developing direction; Prof. Fan, P.H. Joseph (Professor, School of Accountancy of CUHK) presented the empirical research on China’s corporate governance and shared his experience on publishing papers on international journals; Chair Prof. Amy H.L. Lau (Associate Dean, School of Business and Economics of HKU) introduced her years of teaching and research result on the management accounting and decision-making research.
During the seminar, Dr. Song Xiaobao and Lecturer Liu Wei also had an in-depth discussions and exchanges with other representatives on accounting and finance teaching and research issues.
