The 7th China International Seminar of Empirical Accounting was held in Southwest Jiao tong University on Dec. 20-21, 2008. More than 200 delegates from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao tong University, Xiamen University, Sun Yat Sen University, Nankai University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Shantou University. Prof. Huang Zhizhong and Prof. Liu Wei, from Business School, were invited to attend this seminar.
Prof. Jia Jianmin, Dean of School of Economics & Management, Southwest Jiaotong University, hosted the opening ceremony of this seminar. Prof. Li Anlin, Vice-chancellor of Southwest Jiaotong University, Prof. Chen Xiaoyue, Director of China Accounting Review, Ex-Dean of Beijing National Accounting Institute, and Prof. Xiao Zuoping from Accounting Dept. of Southwest Jiaotong University made opening address. Prof. Wu Shinong, Vice-chancellor of Xiamen University, Vice-director of National MBA Committee, and Prof. Shen Zhonghua from Taiwan University made topic speech.
After the opening ceremony, all the delegates were divided into four groups to report respectively. Every group discussed fiercely on corporation finance, empirical accounting, corporation governance and so on. Prof. Huang Zhizhong from Shantou University Business School reported his latest research and Prof. Liu Wei commented on other’s paper.
This seminar supplied a plat for accounting scholars to communicate with each other.
