Led by Professor Zeng Fanqi of Business School, the Shantou University SIFE team participated in the SIFE South China Competition on 28th April. Competed with 21 contestants representing institutes from Guangdong, Fujian and HKSAR, the team, with its outstanding projects and collective performance, won several award titles, including the Wining Prize, Excellent SIFE Team Prize, SIFE Spirit Prize, Most Active Team and Best Commercial Consultancy. All these labels made the team the first in its group and thus ensured its qualification for the National Grand Final, which is set to be held on 20th May in Shanghai.
This year STU SIFE brought two projects to the competition: the Leiling Lichi project which aimed to assist the farmers in Leiling County, Chaonan District, to market and sell their Lichi; the Pugong Employment Assistance project which seeks to assist some locals in the Chen Cuo He region, a part in the suburban Shantou which stagnates in terms of development, to look for job opportunities
The Judging Committee praised the team's efforts and project achivements, stating in particular that it has taken into consideration the associated economic, societal and environmental factors in the endeavours to assist those in need of help the necessary business and economic conceptions so as to promote quality and standard of living in an entrepreneurial way.
