On October 30th, Professor Bernard Pierce, the Executive Dean and Special Advisor of Dublin City University Business School, and Dr. Yuhui Gao, the Programme Director also from DCU Business School visited Shantou University. They were received by leaders of our university, who are severally Professor Danming Lin, the Vice President of the Shantou University, Professor Yi Wang, the Associate Dean of Business School, Professor Qiang Zeng of Business School and Xuequan Liao, the Director of International Cooperation Department. Both sides had a pleasant negotiation about cooperation and communication.
As a beginning, Professor Yi Wang and Professor Bernard Pierce exchanged the introduction of their own university and schools. After that, representatives summarized the similarities of two schools in teaching mode, student training and other aspects. Besides, both of them had already been granted EPAS Accreditation. Based on these, both sides found the possibility and benefits of cooperation. Meanwhile, Professor Danming Lin pointed out that the exchange program between respective colleges of liberal arts had been launched from August this year, which provided valuable experience for later consociation. Finally, they reached an agreement that new exchange program between two business schools would be launched in the next fall term. In addition, the ‘n+n’ program for undergraduates and postgraduates would start from year 2014.
Through this negotiation, both sides strengthened the awareness of respective teaching system. Based on this good start, consociation would perform more smoothly.
