On Nov. 27th and 28th, The 8th Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) Annual Conference and Meetinghosted by Technological University of Malaysia took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Over 60 business schools and educational institutesin the Asia Pacific region attended the meeting. It was an excellent learning and networking opportunity for business school deans,faculty’s members, administrators and business leaders to meet, establish professional relationshipsand to discuss key issues related to the development of business education in the Asia Pacific region.Associate Prof. Xian-yang Zeng of Business School, Shantou Univ. was also invited to the event.
In the opening ceremony, Prof. HirokazuKono, Dean Graduate School of Business Administration, Keio University and Prof. Mohd Hassan Bin Mohd Osman, Vice Chancellor UniversitiTeknologi Malaysia made speeches individually. Moreover, three main accrediting institution for collegiate business schools, AACSB, EFMD, and AMBA, also sent delegates to the conference.
The theme of this year’s meeting, “Innovation BeyondTechnology”, points out the increased challenges in thebusiness and management education landscape. Three main secessions, “Discoursing Exemplary Innovations In Business Schools”, “Coping With Faculty Shortage: Collaborative Faculty Exchange”, and “AAPBS Case Center Briefing Session” made this event a great feast of knowledgeto all members.
During recesses, Associate Prof. Zeng shared ideas and expertise with attendees and then further propagandized our school. That was a meaningful and fruitful international academicexchange.
