The second academic lecture of Business School in 2010 was held in the No.5 Meeting Room of ACC on the afternoon of April 12th. Dr. Xuxin YU, from American University, made an academic report on “The Economics Re-introduction” for the postgraduate students and teachers of Business School. This lecture was hosted by Prof. Zhong QIN.
Prof. Xuxin YU previously taught in Catholic University of America, Montgomery College and The University of Northern Virginia. In addition, he has ever worked in the World Bank, Wells Fargo and Sallie Mae from 2004 to 2007.His research fields include, Exchange Rate Pass-through and the influence mode of exchange rates and prices.
Prof. YU started his lecture with a simple story, but this story sparked a heated discussion among the students. He then told other stories like French economist's stories and smoking economics in order to discuss some aspects of economics. Finally, the attendees discussed some related questions with Prof. YU and the atmosphere was active.
At the end of the lecture, Prof. Zhong QIN made a brief conclusion and the second academic seminar of Business School ended very successfully.
